As we get set to begin a brand new year, we would like to thank the many customers we sold to in 2006.  We were very fortunate to have lots of orders and a huge backlog during most of the year.  The unfortunate part of this story was the missed opportunities we saw due to delivery lead times, and material shortages.  With the start of a new year we will finally see the impact of the 2007 diesel engine emission changes on heavy duty truck sales.  However, there are a substantial number of 2006 manufactured engines in new chassis still available at many truck dealers.  We are starting out 2007 with a large number of governmental orders to be completed during the first quarter of the year.  We will deliver spreaders, dump bodies and or hoists to the States of Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, South Carolina, Indiana and Louisiana in 2007.  Many of these contracts we have held for a number of years, and others are new for us.  Also, through our dealers we will be providing products to a large number of cities and counties across the United States. 

Particularly on this state and municipal business, the specifications are critical.  In fact, many independent contractors would do well to adopt the same comparisons of specifications before buying equipment.  Dump bodies come in a very wide variety of materials and designs.  It's very important when pricing equipment to make sure you make an “apples to apples” comparison.  We are seeing many more specs with high strength AR-400 steel floors, cross member less design, stainless steel construction, etc.  We build ALL types of dump bodies from the small “one ton” body up through the largest bodies mounted on chassis with quad or more axles.  At Warren Equipment, Inc. in Plant City, FL; we also build lift axles as well as frame type, frameless and quarter frame dump trailers in steel and aluminum and aluminum dump bodies.  At Warren Truck & Trailer, LLC in Talco, TX we build our WHR “half round” demolition bodies and pup trailers along with the Warren elevating fifth wheels.  At Warren Truck & Trailer, Inc in Birmingham, AL; we build landscape bodies as well as specialty flats and stake bodies.  We also build feed bodies and trailers as well as bodies and trailers for the explosives market at Warren Manufacturing, Inc. in Birmingham, AL.
