This month we are proud to feature a four-unit fleet that Warren Truck and Trailer built with our distributor, Phenix Truck Body of Pomona, CA, and delivered to the City of San Diego. Because these trucks work only in beach service and cleanup, every spec targets salt, sand, and daily abuse. As a result, each beach dump truck in the group rides on a 2026 Freightliner 114SD 6×4 cab and chassis and carries a corrosion-fighting Warren body built to last.

First, we started with a rugged foundation. The 2026 Freightliner 114SD 6×4 platform brings the payload capacity and tandem-axle traction that shoreline work demands. Moreover, the short, maneuverable cab helps crews thread parking lots, ramps, and soft sand without drama.

Warren WXL-15 304 Stainless Steel Dump Body
Next, we mounted the centerpiece: a Warren WXL-15 dump body rated at 15 to 18 cubic yards. Because ocean air corrodes ordinary steel fast, we built each body from 3/16″ 304 stainless with a powder coat finish and a 1/4″ AR-450 cross memberless floor. Consequently, this 304 stainless steel dump body sheds wet sand cleanly and resists rust season after season.

Traction, Tire Control, and Onboard Weighing
In addition, we equipped every beach dump truck to move confidently across soft ground and stay legal on the road. Therefore each unit combines front-axle drive, adjustable tire pressure, and real-time weighing so operators load right and roll out safely.

Whelen Safety Lighting and Beach-Ready Details
Finally, visibility and safety anchor the build. We added a full Whelen Engineering safety lighting package so crews stay seen on crowded beaches and busy access roads. Furthermore, bright yellow grab handles and access ladders speed safe entry and cleanout. Although the specification demanded careful engineering, our team delivered all four trucks on time and ready for duty.
